Travel + nature photographer, Anaheim CA
Wild places, patiently photographed.
Nieves Monge photographs the wild the way it actually is. Macaws in the canopy, lizards in the Coachella dust, mountains at dusk. No staging, no shortcuts, just the moment as it happened.
The field work
Shot on the move, kept forever.
Every frame below is Nieves’ own photograph, taken traveling. Her current website buries these behind a wall of quotes. They deserve the front page.

About
Nieves Monge, photographer.
An Anaheim photographer who has traveled around the world with a camera, chasing the beauty most people walk past. She keeps a photo journal of the journey, because as Matsuo Basho wrote, “Every day is a journey, and the journey itself is home.”
The traveler
Years on the road with a camera, from desert floors to rainforest canopies, building a body of work one patient frame at a time.
The observer
Wildlife does not pose. Her photographs work because she waits: for the light, for the turn of the head, for the true moment.
The journalist
Every trip becomes a photo journal entry, so the story behind the image survives alongside the image itself.
Her current site
A wall of quotes is hiding all of this.
Right now the homepage shows inspirational sayings instead of photographs, on a platform Adobe shut down. Visitors leave without ever seeing the work. The fix is simple: lead with the pictures.
“May you stay as long as you wish.”
What I shoot
Three ways to work together.
Wildlife
Patient field photography of animals in their own habitat. The macaw, the lizard, the seal: this is the core of the portfolio.
Travel
Photo-journal coverage from the road. Landscapes, street life, and the in-between moments that make a place real.
Portraits
Natural, unforced portrait sessions. The same honest eye she turns on wildlife, turned on people.
Where
Based in Anaheim, at home in the wild.
